Chalkfest is a community-based event hosted by McKelvy Scholars each semester on the sidewalks of the McKelvy House (200 High St., College Hill). All area children are invited to stop by the House for chalk drawing enjoyment. Each child is given a free box of chalk (courtesy of Crayola), assigned a numbered square on our sidewalk, and given free reign to draw till their hearts are content. The Arts Society joins to share their chalk work alongside the kids. The event also has local artists ChalkBorg and Steve Schmid on hand. The event ends with McKelvy Scholars handing out prizes during an award ceremony.
The event is free and open to the public.
