Abstract: Each finite configuration of distinct points in the plane determines an associated lattice of "noncrossing partitions." When the points in the configuration form the vertices of a convex polygon, the resulting lattice is well known in combinatorics and satisfies many interesting properties. In this talk, we will introduce some variations of this lattice which arise when the starting configuration is allowed to have points on the sides of a convex polygon rather than just the vertex set. This is joint work with Kaiyi Fang, Yunting Jiang, Eleanor Pokras, and Prof. Michael Dougherty.
