Contemplative pedagogy has become increasingly popular in the wake of the pandemic, with students and faculty seeking ways to reduce stress and regain focus. Anti-racist pedagogy is also increasingly prominent in light of the Black Lives Matter protests of 2020. This workshop explores the powerful convergence of these two generative approaches. We will briefly explore the history and rationale behind contemplative and anti-racist pedagogies before sharing in a practice together that you can take into your own classroom, as well as ideas for further work in this area. No experience is assumed in any of these areas prior to the workshop, and faculty in all fields are most welcome.
This event is open to faculty and staff only.
