The first season of the Faculty Favorites Film Series concludes with a double feature screening of THE FITS (dir. Anna Rose Holmer, 2016, 72 min.) and LEMONADE ( dir. Beyoncé & Kahlil Joseph, 2016, 65 min.), two of the most energetic and powerful recent films by female media makers. THE FITS follows eleven year-old tomboy Toni (Royalty Hightower) who tries to fit into a compelling dance troupe, which begins to suffer a mysterious outbreak. LEMONADE is Beyoncé’s tour de force visual album of music, images, poetry and politics and power, through chapters on intuition, denial, anger, apathy, emptiness, accountability, reformation, forgiveness, resurrection, hope and redemption.
