Jazz Combo is a performance ensemble class which pursues the study and performance of jazz repertoire in an ensemble format. Students develop interpretation and improvisational skills in jazz compositions and arrangements in a variety of jazz styles. The repertoire for the ensemble's most recent performance included "Mamacita" by Joe Henderson, "Desafinado" by Antonio Carlos Jobim, and "Cantaloupe Island" by Herbie Hancock. Jazz Combo also encourages original composition and arranging. The most recent jazz combo performance also included two original compositions written and arranged by two Lafayette College Jazz combo students.
