DESCRIPTION:Jazz Combo is a performance ensemble class which pursues the st
 udy and \nperformance of jazz repertoire in an ensemble format.  Students 
 develop \ninterpretation and improvisational skills in jazz compositions a
 nd \narrangements in a variety of jazz styles.  The repertoire for the ens
 emble's \nmost recent performance included 'Mamacita' by Joe Henderson\, '
 Desafinado' by \nAntonio Carlos Jobim\, and 'Cantaloupe Island' by Herbie 
 Hancock.  Jazz Combo \nalso encourages original composition and arranging.
   The most recent jazz \ncombo performance also included two original comp
 ositions written and \narranged by two Lafayette College Jazz combo studen
 ts.
