The exiled Venezuelan fiction writer and poet Israel Centeno, a resident of Asylum City in Pittsburgh, will visit Lafayette on October 23 and 24. Mr. Centeno is the author of ten novels and numerous short stories and poems. He was forced to leave Venezuela after writing fiction that was considered to be critical of Hugo Chavez. His visit is sponsored by the Creative and Performing Arts (CaPA) Fellows Program.
