Come hear senior CaPA fellow Sara Somach play short pieces by Vaughan-Williams, Debussy, Ravel, Albeniz, Bartok, Prokofiev, Saint-Saens, Villa-Lobos, and Grant Still! Somach is a senior from Shaker Heights, OH, a suburb of Cleveland, majoring in Music. She was accepted into the CaPA fellowship for cello performance, but recently started singing jazz. During her time at Lafayette, Somach has played cello in the Chamber Orchestra, Contemporary Music Ensemble, a chamber music group, and taken lessons from Betty Tang and David Moulton. She also started to sing in the Jazz Combo, and enjoys the challenge of learning a different genre of music. Somach is going to graduate school for Occupational Therapy, and hopes to apply her knowledge of music and specialize in musicians’ injuries.
