In a career spanning nearly 3 decades, Dr. Franco ’75 has had remarkable commitment in the practice of medicine and mentoring aspiring doctors. After graduating from Lafayette College, Dr Franco attended Meharry Medical School, in Nashville TN, and then moved to Jacksonville FL for a five-year long residency in orthopaedic surgery. In 1986 he began fellowships to specialize in the field of orthopaedic sports medicine at the Hughston Clinic in Columbus, GA and the University of Virginia, Charlottesville. Beginning in 1988, he entered private practice and is now retired but an active member of the physicians community. He will speak about his own experiences as a practitioner and his vision of what the future of health care holds for aspiring physicians. Please note: our lunch session is full.
