DESCRIPTION:Where Do Black Men Live is a powerful fictional dramatization i
nspired by the \n1994 documentary by director Lee Mun Wah\, The Color of
Fear. Written by Gift \nTapiwa\, Joy Wrolson\, and Stephanie Guirand\, th
e film uses a verbatim theatre \nstyle—meaning the script is composed dir
ectly from the real words of Black \nmen interviewed about their housing
experiences. The film imagines eight of \nthese men in conversation\, sea
ted in a circle\, sharing their stories with one \nanother. What unfolds
is a deeply moving exploration of the challenges and \ntriumphs they’ve f
aced in finding and keeping home.\n\nDirected by Corinne Spencer and co-di
rected by Gift Tapiwa Marovatsanga and \nJoy Wrolson\, the film is based
on 25 ethnographic interviews—a less \nintrusive and artificial approach
 to research—conducted between May 2021 \nand November 2022 by Stephanie G
 uirand.
