DESCRIPTION:You are cordially invited to join us for a performance lecture
 by *Dean \nRuddock [1]\, Lafayette's 2026 Max Kade Writer-in-Residence* f
rom Leipzig\, \nGermany.\n\n \n\nDean Ruddock will read an English transl
ation of his celebrated short story \n'pareidolie\,' accompanied by music
and video art. More on the event soon! \n\n \n\n*Dean Ruddock* is an arti
st and educator based in Leipzig\, Germany. His \npractices are located a
t the intersection of art and politics\, bringing \ntogether diverse cons
 tellations of people\, literatures\, and media\, including \nsound\, danc
e\, and (short) film. Many of his projects are grounded in \ninterview-ba
sed research\, through which he seeks to integrate a wide spectrum \nof p
erspectives.\n\nConceptually\, Dean Ruddock’s work engages with questions
of post-migration\, \nglobalization\, and decoloniality\, as well as spec
ulative approaches that move \nbeyond established frameworks. His current
focus is on imagining better \nworlds and exploring how these visions ca
n be translated into storytelling \npractices.\n\n \n\nMore on Dean Ruddo
 ck's work can be found on his website [2]. \n\n \n\n\n[1] https://maxkade.
