In conjunction with Skillman Library's exhibit on the book illustration of Frank E. Schoonover, the artist's granddaughter Louise Schoonover Smith, will talk about his life and career as one of America's great illustrators. A student of the noted artist Howard Pyle and a member of the famed Brandywine River School, Schoonover is best remembered today for his depictions of cowboys, Native Americans, Canadian trappers, and pirates, but his vast body of work also includes the illustration of literary classics, early science fiction, and investigative journalism.
