A selection of short films from the Situationist thinker and filmmaker Guy Debord will help to illuminate the political landscape of Paris in the 1950s and 1960s, as well as to fill in some background on one of the elusive aesthetic influences that informs contemporary political filmmaking today.

Lafayette Cinematheque brings classic, cult, international, independent, and rarely screened films to Landis Cinema throughout the Fall 2026 semester. From landmark works and recent restorations to horror, documentary, experimental cinema, and unexpected discoveries, each Friday offers a new reason to gather around the big screen. Select screenings feature introductions, conversations, and special guests from Lafayette and beyond, creating a space to watch, talk, and experience film together.

All films are free and open to the public.
