ng transportation or scheduling barriers\, increase community engagement\,
\nand also to reduce congestion at the Elections Office and permanent dro

ctions \nOffice\, allowing voters to:\n• Register to vote (deadline May 4)
\n• Apply for a mail-in or absentee ballot\n• Receive and complete a ballo
t on demand\n• Return their ballot securely on site or via the existing dr
opboxes\nAll ballots issued and returned through these events will be hand
led in the \nsame manner as standard absentee and mail-in ballots and will
not be opened \nor counted until Election Day\, consistent with Pennsylva
nia law.\nEvents at each location will be held for one day for a limited p
eriod of time \nand staffed by the trained Elections Division personnel fr
om the Elections \nOffice. All ballot handling will follow existing chain-
 of-custody procedures\, \nwith a secure\, locked\, and continuously monito
red mobile drop box\, and with \nballot collection coordinated with the Sh
eriff’s Department (consistent \nwith County drop box operations). “The ev
ents are designed to build on the \nexisting election processes\, not repl
ace them\, by bringing services directly \ninto the communities we serve\,
 ” said Chris Commini\, Northampton County \nElections Registrar.\n\n
