 has shaped French \nhistory and identity\, from royal courts to modern lux
 ury brands. Through \nliterature\, film\, advertising\, and visits to perf
 ume houses and museums\, we \nwill discover how perfumes are imagined\, ma
 rketed\, and experienced. Students \nwill also learn the science behind sc
 ent\, including how fragrances are \nextracted from plants and transformed
