Stop by Study Abroad's info table to learn more about our new winter program in Thailand! From Temples to Clinics: Ritual, Wellness, and the Politics of Health in Thailand will take students to various Thai cities to explore traditional and modern forms of healthcare.
This course explores how health and healing are understood and practiced in Thailand today. Students will encounter a wide range of approaches, from ritual practices and traditional medicine to modern hospitals and public healthcare systems. Through site visits and discussions, we will examine how these different forms of care interact with social change, new technologies, economic inequality, and the rise of global medical tourism.
