Join us for a special screening of Chœurs Atlantiques (2024), a powerful documentary by Professor Safoi Babana-Hampton (Michigan State University), followed by a discussion with the filmmaker.

Chœurs Atlantiques explores the silenced histories of the transatlantic slave trade and their lasting impact on the Francophone Afro-Caribbean world. Through the voices of artists, historians, and cultural figures across France, the Caribbean, and West Africa, the film examines how memory, art, and storytelling reclaim overlooked pasts and imagine more just futures.

The documentary is in French with English subtitles. The event is free and open to all. Light refreshments will be served at 4:15pm prior to the screening.
