The panel will tell the story of how two students conceived of and completed their research projects, and the discussion will give important examples of how faculty and students creatively interact with Skillman resources. The presenters will include two Lafayette alumni Robert Young'14 and Jethro Israel'16, who worked extensively with Diane Shaw, then director of manuscripts on the history of the McDonogh brothers and the presentation of that research.  Together they worked on digital presentations and art exhibitions such as the one at the back entry of Pardee, and both worked with the support of Skillman staff and scholars. The McDonogh brothers were among the first Black students at Lafayette College, and attending in the mid-19th century.
