Dr. Vernon Smith is a professor of economics and law at Chapman University with expertise in experimental economics, ethics, industrial organization, and real estate. In 2002, he received the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences for his foundational work in the field of experimental economics, and "for having established laboratory experiments as a tool in empirical economic analysis, especially in the study of alternative market mechanisms."
