Do you enjoy exploring historical maps? Join us for a tour of map libraries online where you can obtain free downloads of maps in high resolution images. These are maps created over hundreds of years and covering every corner of the globe. Georeferencing historical maps to overlay on top of contemporary satellite views will be explained. And participants will be introduced to multi-resolution imagery files of maps, which allow deep zoom-ins without losing resolution, and the freeware required to access them.
