In an era marked by funding uncertainties and growing public skepticism about the value of higher education's research and learning outcomes, adopting a more Open approach to sharing and communicating knowledge is not just beneficial—it's essential.

The LVAIC Open Knowledge Symposium will bring together library professionals and other advocates to explore and advance the principles of Open Knowledge—a broad concept that includes Open and Public Access publishing, Open Educational practices, institutional repositories, and more.
Through presentations and panel discussions, attendees will gain practical insights to support and promote Open Knowledge practices within their own institutions. Networking opportunities and shared time for reflection will foster meaningful collaboration across the region. Come join us in building a shared commitment to Open Knowledge practices that will enhance access to, understanding of, and appreciation for the research and educational contributions of our colleges and universities.

This event will take place in OCGE 107 on Wednesday, June 18th. Check-in begins at 8:30am and the event runs from 9am-1:30pm. Lunch will be served.
