In this combined lecture and conversational program, Claire McRee, associate curator at the Allenton Art Museum, will present a half-hour talk exploring the relationship between fashion and women's changing social roles in the early 20th century. Drawing on extant garments, illustrations, and advertisements, she will discuss how designers negotiated the expression of femininity during this era.  Following this presentation, the floor will be open for attendees to ask questions about the talk as well as museum work.
