What: Talk by Margaret Lee, Asian-American artist and co-founder of 47 Canal, an artist-run gallery in NYC. Lunch provided.
Born in the Bronx, NY in 1980, Margaret Lee graduated from Barnard College with an B.A in US History in 2001. In 2009, Lee founded the artist-run space 179 Canal and in 2011 co-founded the gallery 47 Canal, both in NYC. Lee has exhibited internationally with institutions including MoMA, PS1, Dallas Museum of Art, Carpenter Center for the Visual Arts and her works are in the collections The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York; Dallas Museum of Art, Texas, The Rubell Family Collection, Miami; the Astrup Fearnley Museet, Oslo and The Aïshti Foundation, Beirut.
