New Works for Orchestra
The Department of Music at Lafayette College is thrilled to announce two special concerts featuring original large-scale works by student composers.
On Sunday, April 6 at 3pm, The Pennsylvania Sinfonia Orchestra, under the baton of guest conductor Francesco Santelli, will premier new works by four Lafayette student composers at the Williams Center for the Arts. This concert is the culmination of a collaboration between the Department of Music and the PA Sinfonia, which will also include a concert on Saturday, April 5, 7:30pm at the First Presbyterian Church in Allentown. Both events feature a pre-concert talk by all composers one hour before the concert.
Please join for world premiers of works by:
Jackson Eshbaugh (’27) “2nd and Main”
Edgar Lin (’26) “The Second Movement”
Conrad Tilroe (’25) “They've Hidden the Frogs Where the Pond Can’t Find Them”
Owen York, (’26) “Connections”
Both concerts will feature Lafayette student instrumentalists Rebecca Filiato ’25 (cello), Brian Morris ’27 (flute), Andreas Pelekis '26 (cello), Maria Soukup, ’26 (violin), and Camille Voo ’26 (violin), who will be joining the PA Sinfonia for this collaboration.
In addition to the four premiers, the Sinfonia will perform two canonic works: W. A. Mozart's Overture to The Marriage of Figaro, and Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 in A Major.
