Join us in welcoming Samira Kiani, a genetic engineer, science communicator, and multimedia producer who created Make People Better. An associate professor at the University of Pittsburgh, she’s advancing safer CRISPR gene editing for disease treatment. Beginning at MIT in 2010, she launched her lab at Arizona State University in 2016. Supported by NIH and DARPA grants and an AAAS Leshner Fellow, Samira blends art and science through podcasts, VR, and theater.
