Donald L. Miller, John Henry McCrackin Emeritus Professor of History, was a member of the Lafayette History Department for more than 40 years. He is a New York Times bestselling author of ten books including, Vicksburg: Grant’s Campaign that Broke the Confederacy, Supreme City: How Jazz Age Manhattan gave birth to Modern America, Masters of the Air: American Bomber Boys Who Fought the Air War Against Nazi Germany, and D-Days in the Pacific. 

Recently he has received the Horace Porter Award from the US Grant Society for his work on Vicksburg: Grant’s Campaign that Broke the Confederacy. He was also awarded an Emmy and Listeners’ Choice Award for his podcast “Making of Masters in the Air”. He has worked with Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks to produce dramatic miniseries based on “Masters of the Air” and with Hanks to produce and create “He Has Seen War,” an Apple show.

The program will focus on his book and film "Masters of Air", along with other highlights of his career.
