 sociate Professor of \nCivil & Environmental Engineering\, Lafayette Colle
 ge) and Professor Frederick \nPaige (Assistant Professor of Civil & Enviro
 nmental Engineering and Director \nof the Virginia Center for Housing Rese
 arch\, Virginia Polytechnic Institute & \nState University) will share ins
 ights from their NSF-funded project focused \non creating a faculty commun
 ity of practice to transform the way engineering \neducation approaches di
 versity\, equity\, inclusion\, and justice. To help them \nbuild the capac
 ity of their geographically dispersed research team (Lafayette \nCollege\,
  Virginia Tech\, Univ. Wisconsin-Platteville\, and Colorado State \nUniver
 sity) they’ve collaborated with the Institute for Research in the \nSocial
  Sciences (IRISS) at Colorado State University (CSU). Professors \nSanford
  and Paige will discuss key lessons learned in cultivating an \ninterdisci
 plinary research team—highlighting the importance of valuing each \nother’
 s expertise\, collaborative writing\, and fostering a culture of \nconfide
 nce\, inspiration\, and respect. They will also address strategies for \ni
 mproving role clarity and communication. Attendees will leave with practic
 al \ninsights on building successful interdisciplinary partnerships and \n
 understanding how this multi-institutional collaboration has enriched \nPr
 ofessors Sanford and Paige’s growth as scholars. Don’t miss this \nopportu
