Lafayette faculty member and the 2024-2025 Pesky Artist-in-Residence Holly Roadfeldt will take you on an hour-long musical journey in North American Narratives. Recital highlights include William Bolcom’s dramatic Serpent’s Kiss, poignant nocturnes by Samuel Barber and Mary Howe, Frederic Rzewski’s potent Winnsboro Cotton Mill Blues, the world premieres of two brilliant musical biographies from Anthony J. Lanman’s Hommages (composed for Holly Roadfeldt), the spiritually grounding Lacrimosa by Lafayette professor, Kirk O’Riordan, and the devilishly virtuosic Penalty Box by twice Pulitzer Prize finalist, David Rakowski (also composed for Holly Roadfeldt).

Accompanying this program are three original paintings created by local artist, Carithanne Cushman. These works introduce the beginning of Holly Roadfeldt’s collaboration with numerous inspiring artists as part of the 2024-2025 Pesky-Artist-in Residence.
