The Lafayette Speech and Debate Team needs your help!
The Lafayette Speech and Debate Team (also known as Forensics) is hosting our annual tournament on October 12-13. Schools from around the country will come to our beautiful campus to compete. These students are some of the best and the brightest in the nation; they are using their skills to discuss very important ideas in a competitive and academic setting.
We’d love you to be a judge!
Hosting a tournament is a big responsibility and the participants want feedback from the best judges that we can provide. We would love to include the expertise of our faculty to the feedback that students receive. Students debate each other one-on-one and give performances of their speeches in groups of six. Each pairing and group needs a judge to evaluate the students. The Lafayette Forensics Team needs your support to guarantee that every student at the tournament is able to receive high quality feedback. Only a few hours of your time would be necessary and the help would mean a lot to the students. No experience with speech or debate is necessary.
If you are interested in being a part of our tournament, please send Scott Placke an email (plackeh@lafayette.edu). The team can really use your help! You will enjoy yourself, guaranteed.
