Lafayette College will partner with Crime Victims Council to provide engaging programming centering the identities of marginalized populations, specifically LGBTQIA+ survivors. Each interactive program will explore the situation of a survivor, where students can navigate the case study given various barriers and protective factors provided. The goal of these activities is to provide students an opportunity to explore identities of survivors that may not be their own and how certain populations may be at an elevated risk for experiencing violence. This programming will encourage students to cultivate empathy, critical thinking skills, open mindedness, as well as an exploration of systems that may not be accessible to all survivors. Another goal is to demonstrate ongoing partnerships with our local county based agencies and elevate them as an available resource to our campus community.
