Working Towards Revolution: Lehigh Valley Contributions to the New Nation

Saturday, March 23, 2024, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm

Williams Center for the Arts, 317 Hamilton Street, Easton PA

Lehigh Valley 250, a collaboration of Lafayette College, Northampton County Historical and Genealogical Society, Historic Bethlehem Museum & Sites, and Delaware and Lehigh National Corridor, is pleased to share new research and perspectives on the contributions of the Lehigh Valley to the birth and early growth of our nation.

Scholars from Bucknell University, Lafayette College, Lehigh University, Moravian University, Muhlenberg College, and UC Irvine will present their recent discoveries that are helping shape nine exhibitions which are part of the recognition of Lehigh Valley 250. Joined by museum curators, they will discuss the tensions and multiple perspectives and forces that molded the country, reveal the unheard voices of a greater range of peoples who contributed to the nation’s birth, and examine the lasting elements that continue to shape the country and its diverse communities today.
