DESCRIPTION:*Overview*\n\nFaculty\, administrators\, and educational develo
pers regularly engage in peer \nobservations to provide formative or evalu
ative feedback. Many tools are \navailable to guide observers\, but often
prescriptive instruments reduce \ninstructional complexity to manageable\,
one-size-fits all checklists that do \nnot account for the individualized
\, context-dependent nature of teaching. \n\nThis workshop introduces the
Critical Teaching Behavior (CTB) observation \ntools and discusses peer re
view guidelines for a structured\, transparent \nprocess. Faculty will hav
e an opportunity to practice using the CTB \nobservation report by watchin
g teaching vignettes from the Inclusive Teaching \nVisualization project.
\n\n \n\nUsing the CTB tools\, faculty partcipants will be prepared to: \n
\n * give and receive holistic feedback grounded in research-based practic
es\n proven to support student success\n * collaborate to identify teach
ing strengths and set clear goals for\n development \n * engage in refle
ctive self-assessment with the purposes of integrating\n faculty voice i
n the observation process\n\n \n\n/Dr. Lauren Barbeau is co-author of Crit
ical Teaching Behaviors: Defining\, \nDocumenting\, and Discussing Good Te

tives at the Georgia Institute of Technology. \nShe earned her Ph.D. in En
glish\, specializing in 19th century American \nLiterature with a certific
ate in American Culture Studies\, from Washington \nUniversity in St. Loui
 s. Before becoming an educational developer\, she taught \nwriting and lit
erature courses. She began her educational development career \nat Georgia
Southern University and subsequently served as the Assistant \nDirector f
or Faculty Development and SoTL at the University of Georgia. Her \nresear
ch interests include teaching with technology as well as documenting \nand
