The Marquis Consort presents Upon a Ground, a celebration of the repeating bass line progressions of the 17th and 18th centuries. Music of Salamone Rossi, Tarquinio Merula, Henry Purcell, John Eccles, Michal Lambert, and John Blow. The Marquis Consort focuses on music of the Middle Ages, Renaissance, Baroque, and Colonial America and comprises student and faculty singers and instrumentalists exploring music together. Lewis R. Baratz, director, Eric van Hoven, associate director. The concert will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at 3:00pm on the main stage of the Williams Center for the Arts. Admission is free.
