The Jazz Ensemble, led by drummer Jeff Watts, will perform creative works by some of America's great composers including Thelonious Monk, Thad Jones, Gil Evans and Charles Mingus. Our central theme is "Peace from PA" - projecting peaceful and inclusive vibrations from where we are, in the spirit of Jazz's history with protest and social progress. The ensemble will be exploring music by composers from Pennsylvania; McCoy Tyner, Billy Strayhorn and Keith Jarrett.
