Diwali Celebration : Dance in the Round Garba Party

Diwali Celebration: Thursday, Nov 9, 6-8 pm, Farinon Atrium

Choreographer/Dancer Parijat Desai will offer the Lafayette community a participatory dance experience

called Dance In The Round, based on Garba, circle dance from Gujarat, India. In collaboration with Lafayette

students, Parijat will share fun, doable, and energizing garba steps that take us around the circle, to celebrate

Diwali and to provide cultural context for the exhibition of Chila Kumari Singh Burman’s work in the Williams Center

Gallery and Grossman Gallery. No dance experience is necessary! All are welcome.
