TED is a nonprofit devoted to ideas worth spreading. It started out in 1984 as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then its scope has become ever broader. This year's TED event at Lafayette is connected to TEDMED, a multi-disciplinary community of innovators and leaders who share a common determination to create a better future in health and medicine. The idea for the conference is inspired by the fact that so many challenges in health and medicine are rooted in social and commercial causes as much as medical. TEDMED is an effort to promote inclusive conversation about how to achieve the future in health and medicine we all want. The TEDMED conference is a 3 day long event held in Washington DC, which Lafayette will be streaming live on campus on April 17th-19th. Saturday April 20th will bring TEDMED to Easton through TEDMED Live at Laf, a conference held on campus that will bring together various speakers related to different aspects of the health and medical field.
