
Dr. Hylan will discuss his career since graduating from Lafayette and how he went from an undergraduate degree in economics and history to a career in Medical Affairs in biopharma emphasizing the interdisciplinary passion that was unlocked at Lafayette. Dr. Hylan was involved in the development of Pfizer’s COVID vaccine and has led teams working on digital innovation and therapeutic advancements in cardiovascular, pain, inflammation and neuroscience areas. Dr. Hylan plans to explore some current interdisciplinary issues such as “health care information in today’s digital age” (e.g. how do we sort through everything coming at us to find trustworthy information about health care and treatment options?) and “fostering health care equity” (e.g. what can we do to foster more equity to health care services globally?).
