Our school uses a short-range radio protocol called RFID for access control. You hold your card near a reader, and the reader knows just what to do. These tags are used everywhere: credit cards, transit passes, and the college doors.
You know those Checkpoint phobs that the college gives everyone? RFID tags.
The members of the Monroe@ house designed and built a keyless entry system for their house using RFID tags.
