On Monday, February 6th, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck the Turkey and Syria borders in the in the Gaziantep province of southeast Turkey. This earthquake is one of the strongest to hit the region in 100 years. Ten cities have sustained considerable damage, with over 30,00 buildings collapsed, including hospitals, schools, and government buildings. The World Health Organisation described rescue efforts as a "race against time" as people stay trapped under the rubble for several days without food or water.

In order to help ensure relief efforts can continue, ISA is organising a fundraiser to collect donations. The fundraiser will include samples of baklava and tabbouleh, traditional Turkish foods from Limon, an authentic Turkish kebab house in Hellertown. All proceeds will be donated to Turkish Philanthropy Funds, a US-based organization that has been sending aid and support to the affected region (see tpfunds.org for more info).
