 h Nature and Science and \nhis debut popular science book\, Subtract\, is 
 among the most influential \npublished in 2021. Leidy is a frequent guest 
 on interview programs /including \nHidden Brain\, Freakonomics\, and NPR/\
 , and has written for /The Washington \nPost\, Fast Company\, Harvard Busi
 ness Review/\, and /Scientific American/. A \nprofessor at the University 
 of Virginia\, Leidy has authored more than 80 \noriginal research articles
  and secured more than $10 million dollars in \ncompetitive funding to sup
 port his and others’ work in this area. Before \nbecoming a professor\, Le
 idy designed schools in New Jersey and before that he \nplayed professiona
 l soccer. Leidy Klotz graduated in 2000 with a degree in \nCivil Engineeri
 ng and is also a member of the Mens Soccer Maroon Club Hall of \nFame.\n\n
 The Resnik Memorial Lecture is named in honor of astronaut Judith A. Resni
 k\, \nan electrical engineer who lost her life in the Challenger space shu
 ttle \ndisaster on January 28\, 1986. The event is sponsored by the John a
 nd Muriel \nLandis Lecture Fund\, and the Farber Memorial Endowment Fund f
