Please join the Africana Studies program as they welcome Dr. Anima Adjepong who will discuss their book Afropolitan Projects: Redefining Blackness, Sexualities, and Culture from Houston to Accra. Their book focuses on the cities of Houston, TX and Accra, Ghana and Africans at home and abroad through the exploration of national and pan-African cultural politics, race, class, sexuality, and religion. This event is cosponsored by the WGSS and International Affairs programs.

Dr. Anima Adjepong is a sociologist whose research examines culture, identities, and social change in West Africa and the diaspora. They received their PhD in Sociology from the University of Texas at Austin and an A.B. in Comparative Literature from Princeton University.
