Dr. Aparna Parikh is an Assistant Professor of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Penn State University and a feminist urban geographer who focuses on gendered dimensions of urban environmental belonging in South Asian cities. Dr. Parikh will present her research that examines the gendered impacts of development on Koli (fisher) communities in Mumbai and discuss why an intersectional feminist lens is crucial in forwarding our understanding of urban environmental change.
