In this session, CITLS Faculty Fellow Mary Jo Lodge will introduce and demonstrate Creative Dramatics and Integrated Arts techniques that can engage students across the curriculum. Both Creative Dramatics and Integrative Arts have long been used with children and teens in classes other than theater to enliven and enrich courses and to engage students in active and fun ways. Prof. Lodge is exploring adapting successful techniques drawn from theater, visual arts, music and dance classrooms that have been proven to help engage younger students for use in the undergraduate classrooms in subject areas both within and far beyond the arts.  She will utilize these new techniques in her FYS class in Fall 2021, and report back on lessons learned at the end of the term
