Join us for a presentation and discussion by Dr. Tammy R. Vigil, Professor of Communications, Boston University about the US first ladyship that will highlight the expectations placed on presidential spouses and explain how different women have fulfilled the role across time. Using examples from a variety of presidential spouses throughout history, Dr. Vigil will talk key similarities and distinctions between these individuals and their various efforts to meet the demands of the position. She will also discuss the ways the public judges this unique community of unelected, unappointed, unpaid public servants.
