Sukaina Hirji is Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the University of Pennsylvania. Professor Hirji works both in ancient philosophy and in contemporary ethics. Much of her work explores the Aristotelian idea that there is something intrinsically valuable about developing and exercising capacities that are central to our nature as human beings. Professor Hirji will present her paper, “Outrage and the Bounds of Empathy.”
