Here is your opportunity to learn about financial modeling and corporate valuation. Workshop Content – Synchronous

Saturday, April 10th
Session 1: Valuation (~5 hours)
The main goal of the seminar is to assist candidates seeking employment in finance related fields. The corporate valuation seminar will explore the fundamentals of valuation techniques used by finance practitioners. Specifically, the content will cover:

• Fundamentals of financial statement analysis
• Key valuation concepts: Equity and Enterprise Value, EBIT and EBITDA
• Common uses of valuation
• Public comparables analysis
• Acquisition comparables analysis
• Discounted cash flow analysis
• Imputing multiples and valuation ranges
• Sources of public information

The instructor will provide a short optional activity for the students to attempt between the two sessions.

Saturday, April 17th

Session 2: Financial Modeling (~5 hours)
This intensive workshop, an abbreviated version of the program for Training The Street’s corporate clients, is designed to develop financial modeling skills through actual hands-on construction of an abridged financial model. Topics include:
• Basic Excel setup including macro security settings, iterations & toolbar setup
• Financial modeling essentials including appropriate color schemes
• Key operating profit line items
• Key cash flow items statement (working capital, capital expenditures, depreciation, etc.)
• Discounted cash flow analysis
• Excel best practices, common “shortcut” keys and other efficiency tips
• Excel functions and formula
