Making Everything Visual All the Time
elin o'Hara slavick will share the conceptual, political and interdisciplinary projects she has been working on for over 40 years, including cyanotypes, photographs, collage, site-specific installations, paintings, drawings, and mixed-media. Her work has explored conditions of war and survival, violence and loss, labor and the body, familial relationships and conflict, peace and heterotopias, the media and memory. She received her BA in poetry, film history and art from Sarah Lawrence College and her MFA in Photography from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She has been a Professor of Studio Art, Theory and Practice at UNC, Chapel Hill for 27 years.
