Join Brad Pursel ‘95, who serves as the senior vice president of media and game schedule management for Major League Soccer, for "Primetime Pards" on Thursday, Nov. 19 at 8 p.m.
Because of Zoom participation limitations, early registration for Primetime Pards is encouraged.While completing his undergraduate degree at Lafayette, Pursel was a four-year member of the men’s soccer team, serving as team captain his senior season. He totaled 12 goals and was a two-time Patriot League Player of the Week selection, earning league academic honors as well. Pursel, who earned his master’s degree from New York University, was part of the 1994 team that captured the Patriot League championship and was also a two-year member of the Leopards’ tennis team.
After getting his professional start working for the American Professional Soccer League, Pursel started his Major League Soccer career in 1997 in both the game operations and broadcasting departments before moving to manage the league’s club services division. He is now the league’s senior vice president of media and game schedule management and is responsible for planning and developing Major League Soccer’s regular season and playoff schedules. In his role, he also collaborates with the US Soccer Federation, Canadian Soccer Association, LigaMX and Concacaf on scheduling related to regional competitions and works closely with the league’s competition, commercial groups and national media partners in the United States and Canada to construct broadcast schedules.
