This event will begin with the student winners of the 2020 Jean E. Corrie Poetry Prize, followed by a reading with the prize judge, Owen McLeod.

 

Open to first-year students, sophomores, and juniors, and sponsored by the Department of English and the Academy of American Poets,the Jean E. Corrie Poetry Prize has been awarded at Lafayette College for more than 30 years.

 

Owen McLeod's poetry has been published or is forthcoming in 32 Poems, Alaska Quarterly Review, Bennington Review, Boulevard, Copper Nickel, Field, Massachusetts Review, Mississippi Review, Missouri Review, New England Review, New Ohio Review, North American Review, Pleiades, Ploughshares,  Poetry Northwest, River Styx, Sixth Finch, Southeast Review, The Southern Review, Sugar House Review, The Sun, Thrush Poetry Journal, Water~Stone Review, Willow Springs, Yale Review, Poetry Daily, Verse Daily, and elsewhere.

McLeod's debut collection, Dream Kitchen (2019) won the Vassar Miller Prize in Poetry. He is Associate Professor of Philosophy at Lafayette College.
