Nobuntu is a five-woman a cappella ensemble from Zimbabwe. Workshop participants will learn various dances from the Ndebele Culture, such as Isitshikitsha, Indlamu, and Amabhiza. Singing accompanies the dances, so participants will also be introduced to 1-2 songs which they will perform during the dances, as well as rhythmic accompaniment through drumming, clapping, and movement. The dance workshop is free but advanced registration is required. Contact Williams Center Fellow, Rochelle Greenidge, at greenidr@lafayette.edu to reserve a space. This workshop accompanies their 8pm performance at the Williams Center for the Arts.
